Collective Worship
Collective Worship at Buckland St Mary C of E Primary School is an integral part of daily life.
Our character gateways of Citizenship, Leadership, Expression, Exploration and Flourishing form part of who we are at Buckland.
These values are referred to as part of everything we do - including learning about life, the world around us and sorting out problems with our friends. The whole school comes together in reflection on Monday afternoons. Rev Jim leads our collective worship on Tuesday. The children love to sing and we get together to learn new hymns and songs weekly during choral worship on Wednesday. On Thursday we enjoy visiting St Mary’s Church for Open the Book. On Friday we alternate between coming together for ‘Praise and Share’ class collective worship where we invite in our families to celebrate our achievements and give thanks for a great week of learning. This time is also used in our classes to reflect on our current values through our character gateway with a focus on world views.
